Gina Carano might play lead in 'Wonder Woman' movie

Gina Carano is said to be in the running for the lead in director Nicolas Winding Refn’s rumoured ‘Wonder Woman’ movie.
The mixed martial arts star-turned-actress plays a badass character in Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Haywire’, which wowed Blake Lively, Debra Winger, Debbie Harry, Calvin Klein and Grace Coddington at a Cinema Society screening, the New York Post reported.
‘Haywire’ also stars Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Michael Angarano, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, and Bill Paxton.
Talking about the Wonder Woman role in an interview, Carano had said that she would be interested in such a project.
“I would definitely be into working with [Refn],” she told Vulture.
“One of my favorite superhero movies is Hancock – did you see it? If they could do a superhero movie in a more realistic fashion where you could actually believe in it, I would be up for that. It could still be playful, but that’s what I’m representing – the fighting would be real. More than anything, I would want Wonder Woman to be believable, you know?” she said.
