The remake movie also has a strong star cast. It is a remake of a 1990 film of the same name and is directed by Johar’s former assistant Karan Malhotra. Hrithik Roshan plays the lead role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, originally played by Amitabh Bachchan. Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist. Other members of the cast include Priyanka Chopra, Rishi Kapoor and Zarina Wahab. The character played by Mithun Chakraborty in the original has been totally done away with. Katrina Kaif appears in an item number.

Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Hrithik Roshan) who wants to take the revenge from Kancha (Sanjay Dutt). Whereas, Kancha (Sanjay Dutt) wants to criminally develop cocaine in the village by fooling and ruling over the poor villagers. In the journey to achieve his goal, he stumbles upon Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor) who becomes his Godfather.  Also, meanwhile, he grows up with girl in neighborhood, Kaali (Priyanka Chopra), who eventually becomes his love interest.  Now, how will Vijay accomplish his task is the rest of the story!

Hrithik Roshan action is very well and Sanjay Dutt has done better. Priyanka Chopra looked cute. New negative character of Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor) included in the movie to make it interesting. Also, worth mentioning is the fastastic work by child actor Arish Bhiwandiwala. Katrina Kaif's ‘Chikni Chameli’ song is good entertaining. Karan Malhotra still has a long way to go as he comes across as very nave with his approach towards direction. Cinematography and picturization are good. Characterization slightly suffers as compared to the original. Ajay-Atul’s music as well as the background score complements the film.

This movie is good but can’t say it will compete the great Original movie.
