Sanjay gets inspired from Jack Nicholson's 'Joker' character

Second Life

Sanjay gets inspired from Jack Nicholson

Actor Sanjay Dutt is playing villain Kancha Cheena in the upcoming movie Agneepath, which is slated to release on 26th January. The role of the baddie was previously played by Danny Denzongpa in the 1990's original movie.

In the remake version, the villain, played by Sanjay, will be seen as bald, with bulky physique, tattoos on his arms, a silver ring on top of his left ear and a black outfit. Sanjay Dutt's wicked smile, puffed-up eyes and dreadful look featured in the trailers and posters of the film Agneepath have got him lot of appreciation.

Sanjay Dutt who plays the role of Kancha Cheena, is an evil drug lord and from what we’ve seen in the promos, the actor has never looked so deadly.  If you look closely at the menacing Kancha of Agneepath, you might realise what inspired Sanjay Dutt to play the larger-than-life villain. It was Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of Joker in the 1989 film, Batman that helped him don the garb of the dangerous villain in the film.

Sanjay Dutt chose to go bald for the role as he had Nicholson’s look in mind. Sanju has clearly added the much-needed edge to the character by going bald and the audience loves it. ‘I loved Jack Nicholson’s Joker in ‘Batman’ and it was on my mind when I was working on Kancha Cheena’s laugh.’ said Sanjay.

Now that we know where Sanju got his inspiration from, it makes us want to see more of him, but that can only happen once the film hits theatres 26th January. Let’s hope Sanjay Dutt’s sacrifice pays off and Agneepath gets a good response at BO.
